This page explains what information Walden Hyde collects when you visit waldenhyde.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We keep it short because we collect very little.
The short version
- We only collect what you choose to send us, through our contact form or newsletter sign-up.
- If you say yes, Google Analytics tells us how people use the site. If you say no, it doesn’t load at all.
- We don’t sell your information, and we don’t use it for advertising.

Information you give us
Contact form
When you send us a message, we receive your name, email address, company (if you add it) and your message. We use them to reply to you and, if we work together, to stay in touch about the project. Messages are delivered to our inbox by Resend, an email delivery service.
Newsletter
If you sign up for our newsletter, we keep your email address on our mailing list so we can send it to you. Our list is run by Mailchimp, which stores your address and sends the newsletter on our behalf. Like most newsletter services, it tells us whether an issue was opened and which links were clicked. Every issue has an unsubscribe link, or you can ask us to remove you.
Information collected automatically
Google Analytics, only with your permission
If you click “Accept” on our cookie notice, we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used: which pages people visit, how long they stay, roughly where they are (city or country) and how they found us. Google Analytics uses cookies to do this. We don’t use it for advertising, and we don’t combine it with anything else we know about you. If you click “No thanks,” Google Analytics never loads.
Google explains how it handles this data in its privacy policy. You can also block Google Analytics on every site with Google’s opt-out browser add-on.
Spam protection
Our contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a real person is sending it. It looks at basic technical signals from your browser and doesn’t track you for advertising.
Hosting and security
Our site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, it briefly records technical details such as your IP address and browser type in order to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks.
Fonts and videos
Our typefaces load from Google Fonts, so your browser fetches them from Google’s servers. Videos come from YouTube, in its privacy-enhanced mode, and Vimeo, with tracking turned off. Those services may still note that a video was played.
Cookies
The only cookies on our site are Google Analytics cookies, and only if you accept them. They’re named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID, and they last up to two years. Your browser also remembers your choice, so we don’t ask on every visit. You can change your answer at any time with the button at the bottom of this page, or by clearing cookies in your browser.
Who we share information with
We don’t sell or rent your information. We share it only with the services that help us run the site, named above, which handle it on our behalf. We may also share information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep messages and newsletter sign-ups for as long as they’re useful for staying in touch, and delete them when they’re not, or when you ask. Google Analytics keeps visit statistics for no more than 14 months.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the personal information we have about you, or to stop emailing you. Email hithere@waldenhyde.com and we’ll take care of it. Depending on where you live (for example California, Colorado or the European Union), local law may give you more rights, and we’ll honor those requests too.
Children
Our site is for businesses and isn’t directed at children under 16. We don’t knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
